Default NZ Dollar Slips To More Than 7-week Low Against Euro

Extending its morning session's downtrend, the New Zealand dollar declined further against major currencies during New York afternoon deals on Thursday. At present, the kiwi is trading near more than a 7-week low of 1.7673 against the euro and a new multi-day low of 0.7695 versus the US dollar, which may be compared to yesterday's closing value of 1.7436 and 0.7772, respectively.

Against its Australian counterpart, the kiwi traded further lower and touched a fresh multi-week low of 1.2710 by about 12:55 pm ET from Wednesday's New York session close of 1.2593. As of now, the pair is worth 1.2699.

The NZ currency also edged down against the Japanese yen in today's afternoon deals and currently trading near 59.05 from early morning session's high of 60.23. The kiwi-yen pair closed yesterday's North American session at 59.55.
