The Japanese yen continued to trade weaker across the board in early New York deals on Wednesday.

The yen dropped below the psychologically important levels of 78.0 against the Australian dollar, 76.0 against the Canadian dollar and 86.0 against the Swiss franc around 9:00 am ET.

The Japanese currency is presently trading at fresh multi-week lows of 78.37 against the aussie, 76.15 against the loonie, 61.41 against the kiwi, 106.60 against the euro, 86.10 against the Swiss franc and 101.72 against the pound.

Against the US dollar, the yen depreciated almost 1.3 percent to reach a 4-week low of 77.30 from previous session's fresh 2-week high of 76.32.
