Extending previous session's rally, the Swiss franc touched a 7-week high of 0.8637 against the US dollar in early New York deals on Thursday. The USD/CHF pair is thus trading below the 100-day falling EMA of 0.8647 with 0.8540 seen as the next likely target level.

Against the yen, the Swiss franc advanced to 87.79 and this set the highest mark for the pair since September 16. The franc-yen pair is presently worth 87.60 with 88.70 seen as the next likely resistance level.

The alpine currency also advanced to more than a 5-week high of 1.3886 against the pound in early New York deals Thursday. On the upside, 1.3860 is seen as the next likely target level for the franc at which point the rising 50-day EMA lies in the pair.
