The best would be to study all these types of charts and then see if they might be of worth to you. Check out www.forextraderaustralia.com for some info on the other types of charts.

Default help with charts

There are a lot of different types of charts out there, and I actively use bar charts and candle stick charts, but should I actually use charts such as the Kagi etc ? I am a currency trader..

All you need are candlesticks.
They tell a story.
You can learn to view them based on different principles however.
Get a good book on candlesticks to learn about candle formations like DARK CLOUD COVER and the like from a general perspective.

But if you want the best success, using candles or any other type chart, learn Eliott Wave Theory.
It will take a lot of time, but I have a perfect track record on FOREX after 5 years of stocks and options trading.

Elliott Wave/Fibonacci rules if you know how to use it.
It is natures law you know!

Good luck
