How do you start a business as a virtual assistant?
Hello friends,
I want to target real estate agents and help them with administrative work. I want to be certified as a virtual assistant, but wondered how necessary it would be to obtain that right away. Any idea highly appreciate.
Best regards

Becoming a VA requires planning and many skills. If you are considering working from home as a VA begin by making a list of skills that you already have and decide what area you are qualified for.. Also, make sure you have the basics to get started: computer/laptop, good Internet connection, virtual office tools, copy / fax machine, filing cabinet, printer, copy paper, printer ink, daily planner, office chair, etc. If you need to buy office supplies, look for places where you can get good discounts. Spend as little money as possible..

You need understand if you have the skills that are often expected from virtual assistants - do you have good telephone answering skills? can you efficiently carry out message taking, document typing? are you organised? Can you communicate effectively? If so then excellent - find out what your niche is, is there a particular skill set you are good at? Some Virtual assistants even offer SEO and web development. Do you offer something like this or something that will make you stand out from the norm? Establishing your service offerings and niche area is the first step!
