The most recent Regional and State Employment and Unemployment news release

(http://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/laus.pdf) was reissued today by the

Bureau of Labor Statistics. A notice about the reissuance can be found on

the first page of the news release. Highlights of the news release are below.

In September, 21 states and the District of Columbia

recorded over-the-month unemployment rate increases, 23

states registered decreases, and 6 states had no change.

Nonfarm payroll employment rose in 9 states and fell in

41 states and the District of Columbia.
